Jacob Tyler Thureson (January 11, 2001 – June 27th, 2019), better known by his stage name Hella Sketchy, was a half-Filipino-half-Scandinavian producer and rapper from Austin, Texas. The young prodigy established himself as one of SoundCloud’s most legendary producers by the age of 18. He amassed over 20,000 followers on his SoundCloud page and was extremely well known for his very popular “new wave” beats, which he published at a prolific rate on his store, currently with over 300 for sale.
He produced some of Soundcloud rap’s biggest hits for Ugly God, Tay-K, Wintertime, Lil Tracy, PnB Rock, Warhol.ss, Pollàri, and a crowd of other artists, many of these while still only 16 or 17. He also worked with other well-known producers such as Charlie Shuffler, Ginseng and Diablo. As a rapper, he found early success with his viral hit “Spent A Check,” the first of his songs to achieve over 1,000,000 views on YouTube. A few of his songs have benefited from music videos posted to large YouTube channels (i.e. “Stupid” and “Llama”).
He was a part of the SoundCloud super-group D1, which consisted of Ginseng’s rap alias Lil Wintr, producer Shiro, producer Despair, rapper Marcelo, and Hella Sketchy himself.
