California-born singer-songwriter Kristinia DeBarge entered the music industry at the young age of 13 when she competed in the American Idol spin-off American Juniors. DeBarge was born in 1990 and is daughter of the famous R&B singer James DeBarge, member of the group Debarge.
One year after moving on to the 10 semi-finalists on American Juniors and being eliminated, she began working with music producers and 5 years later signed a record deal with Island Def Jam Records. DeBarge released her debut single “Goodbye” in 2009 which became a hit in the United States and Canada reaching the top 15 in both countries. Later that year she released her debut album Exposed and supported Britney Spears on tour.
DeBarge has not only been pursuing her career as a musician, but also as an actress, starring in several movies such as School Dance and The Mint.
