Diego Leanos (born September 6, 1996), better known by his stage name Lil Xan, is an American rapper hailing from Redlands, California. Of Mexican descent, he grew up poor, mostly living motel to motel. He was a photographer for a while before having his camera stolen, he later called this event as the main kickstart to his music career. Lil Xan calls his crew Xanarchy.
Lil Xan was signed to Columbia Records mid 2017, after he caught the attention of DJ Mormile, the VP of A&R at Colombia Records, and Founder of Fake Work Management (Rae Sremmurd, Mike Will Made-It).
Leanos was formerly addicted to Xanax, but he was able to quit the drug after two years of addiction. Leanos currently speaks out against Xanax abuse and announced in 2018 that he would change his stage name to “Diego” in order to support his anti-drug message.
