McBriare Samuel Lanyon (born Vernor Winfield McBriare Smith IV on April 30, 1990), better known by his stage name Mac DeMarco, is a Canadian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer.

Previously the frontman of Makeout Videotape, he originally didn’t branch out as Mac DeMarco because he didn’t want to be mistaken for “some Italian DJ or something.”
