Murder Inc.
Murder Inc.
A planned supergroup formed in 1995 consisting of up-and-coming artists JAY-Z, DMX & Ja Rule. The group’s first ever appearance was on Mic Geronimo’s “Time To Build” in 1995, followed by Ja Rule’s clique “Ca$h Money Click” on a song titled “If It’s On It’s On” in 1996. In 1998, JAY-Z released the “Streets Is Watching Soundtrack” which had the song titled “Murdergram” in which was the only song they performed under the name “Murder Inc.” In 1999, Ja Rule released his debut album which had the song titled “It’s Murda” featuring JAY-Z & DMX. The group was featured on the XXL magazine that same year and were meant to record an album apparently titled “America’s Most $500,000 Reward” but the album was never materialized due to JAY-Z & DMX’s competitiveness and egos getting in the way, and eventually DMX & Ja Rule had issues due to X saying that Ja stole his aggressive flow, then DMX & Ja Rule reunited and appeared on N.O.R.E’s song “Stay Flawless” in 2010. Then in 2016, Murder Inc. finally reunited thanks to DJ Khaled but no music from the group came out. People said if Murder Inc. lasted longer or JAY-Z, DMX, Ja Rule never had internal issues and released albums, mixtapes, compilations or did tours that they could’ve been the greatest group of all time.
