N-Trance
N-Trance
N-Trance were formed at Oldham College in 1989 by sound engineering students Kevin O’Toole and Dale Longworth, who used the laboratory to produce songs similar to the rave music that was in the charts at that time. They caught the attention of several record companies including Pete Waterman’s 380 Records, which signed them as N-Trance, a change of name from the previous Quartech.
They soon recruited 16-year old Kelly Llorenna as lead vocalist and released their best-known song, “Set You Free”, in 1992. After it was re-released twice, it finally became a chart hit in 1995 and remains a classic dance tune to this day.
