Noah is an Indonesian pop rock band from Bandung, Indonesia. It was formed in 2012 as a continuation of the multi-platinum group Peterpan by the remaining founding members of that band – vocalist Nazril “Ariel” Irham, rhythm guitarist Uki Kautsar, lead guitarist Lukman Hakim and drummer Ilsyah Ryan Reza – plus keyboardist David Albert, who had recorded and performed with Peterpan since 2007. As of August 2019, only Ariel, Lukman and David remain members of Noah.

After parting ways with fellow band founders Andika Naliputra and Hendra Suhendra, the remaining members of Peterpan recorded and released their third album Hari yang Cerah… in 2007 before reaching an agreement with their former band mates that they would cease using the name Peterpan. After releasing the double album compilation Sebuah Nama, Sebuah Cerita in 2008, the band announced that they would stop performing as Peterpan in October 2009 and continue with a new name.

The recording process for the band’s next album and the unveiling of their new name had to be delayed due to Ariel’s alleged involvement in racy videos that were leaked in 2010, which were deemed in violation of anti-pornography laws and led to his imprisonment. While their lead singer was incarcerated, the other members of the band played several shows with a number of guest vocalists. In early 2012, they released Suara Lainnya, a mostly-instrumental album of rearranged Peterpan songs. As they still wanted to keep the band’s new name under wraps, the album was credited to Ariel, Uki, Lukman, Reza, David as the artist.
