Pearl Aday is the daughter of Clark Pierson, the drummer of Janis Joplin’s backing group Full Tilt Boogie Band, and Leslie Edmonds Aday, who later married Michael Lee “Meat Loaf” Aday. She is also the adopted daughter of Meat Loaf. She was named after Janis Joplin, as Pearl was Joplin’s nickname.

Aday is a rock vocalist who began her career singing backups for Meat Loaf in 1995. In 2000, she was a backup vocalist for Motley Crue on their tour in support of the album New Tattoo. A DVD of one concert from the tour with Aday on backing vox was released as Lewd, Crüed & Tattooed in 2001.

In 2009, Aday released an album under the band name Pearl with Mother Superior member Jim Wilson and her husband, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian. In 2015, she was in the band Motor Sister, again alongside Wilson and Ian. That same year, she shared lead vocals on the Armored Saint song “With A Head Full Of Steam”, marking the first time frontman John Bush had done so with a female vocalist.
