Shady Records is an American record label founded in 1999 by rapper Eminem and his manager, Paul Rosenberg. After the highly successful release of Eminem’s second album, The Slim Shady LP, Interscope Records awarded them with their own label.
Since the formation, the label has signed more than nine acts. It has also been part of the business venture in Shade 45 radio station via Sirius Satellite Radio, and had its own dedicated special edition magazine via XXL magazine.
The labels acts over the years have earned RIAA certifications of platinum or higher on seven of its fourteen released albums. Signed acts include but are not limited Boogie, Griselda Records rappers Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine, and duo Bad Meets Evil. Former acts include but are not limited Obie Trice, Stat Quo, Bobby Creekwater, Cashis, D12, Slaughterhouse, Yelawolf and of course, their biggest-selling artist to date, 50 Cent.
