Yungeen Ace has been through a lot. The Jacksonville rapper, real name Kenyata Bullard, has released two mixtapes, served prison time, and survived a shooting that left his brother and two close friends dead. Ace reflects on the murder of his closest friends on his biggest single to date, “Pain.”

Born in East Chicago, IN, Yungeen Ace was raised in Florida. His large family struggled to pay the bills and bounced from house to house as he grew up. Before his rap career blew up, Yungeen Ace had a vlog channel with his girlfriend. He became an integral part of his local crew Yungeen Gang, which was founded by older members Flip Tha Yungeen and Trigga Romo. Ace has since separated from the group after an unnamed member snitched on him. He got his rap name from the character Ace in the 2002 movie Paid in Full.

Yungeen Ace was sentenced to a year in prison just as his single “Go To War” began to go viral on YouTube. His career was put on hold until he got out. In February 2018 he released the single “All In,” which became so popular that he signed a record deal with Cinematic Music Group. His debut project Life Of Betrayal was released August 3rd, 2018. He has since released four more projects, the most recent one being 2020’s Don Dada.
