[Verse 1]
Type quiet, feelings private
Til she explode
Fucks given, Zero
Shorty pull up, Porsche Cayenne
Hottest summer
Nike, Ray-Bans

Skin cocoa, no spray tan
But you be ranting, raving
And I be lacking patience
Cut that — like K-Camp
I wish I could reset
So many lines I regret
Though this love had some defects

[Chorus]
I made some promises that I had to break
Said I’d love you back, calm you when you rage
But I’ve really had much as I can take
Guess some promises are just meant to
Just meant to break, yeah

[Verse 2]
Bad blood, I don’t want it
So if I end up running
I hope you won’t hold grudges
I could try to give you balance
Try to withstand every challenge

If I do that for you
Would you do the same for me
Gang throw a birthday bash on the strip
South Beach
While you digging up my past, thinking way too deep
Never should’ve chose yo ass
Put the blame on me-ee, damn

[Vamp]
Loyalty, royalty in my chromosomes
Oil me up
Drip me in diamonds and gold
I should be chiseled in stone
Legacy legacy, making my own
It runs in my fam
I feel it, it’s in my bones
I should be chiseled in stone

Your love ain’t cheap, I’m still paying the tax
It’s too many risks, I gave you more than I had (Payback)
In my pocket my receipt, I had to take it back (Exchange that)

[Chorus]
I made some promises that I had to break
Said I’d love you back, calm you when you rage
But I’ve really had much as I can take
Guess some promises are just meant to
Just meant to break, yeah

[Bridge]
Seems that we’re more like enemies now
What happens to infinity now
What happens to infinity now

[Chorus]
I made some promises that I had to break
Said I’d love you back, calm you when you rage
But I’ve really had much as I can take
Guess some promises are just meant to
Just meant to break, yeah
