[Verse 1]
You've got that look in your eyes
And I've got plans for two
Though you're the kinda girl
Who likes to take her time with love
I'd gladly wait forever for you
But in the middle of the night
I know something ain't right
We've got something special, girl
Let's give it a try

[Chorus]
One night of touchin', one night, one night, girl
Two nights of trust
Three nights of huggin'
Makes one night of love, ooh, ooh, ooh
One night of touchin', one night, one night, girl
Two nights of trust
Three nights of huggin', I'm going to wait, if that's what it takes
Makes one night of love, for one night

[Verse 2]
You've got that love in your heart
And I've got love for you
But I'm the kinda guy, who likes to get right to the point
I wanna give my lovin' to you
So in the middle of the night
When I'm holdin' you tight
I'll show you how precious lovers love thru the night

[Chorus]
One night of touchin', one night, one night, girl
Two nights of trust, oh, oh, oh
Three nights of huggin', that makes, that makes
Makes one night of love, that makes one night of love, baby
One night of touchin', you and me, one on one
Two nights of trust, love's gonna be so much fun
Three nights of huggin', what it makes, you know it makes
Makes one night of love, oh

[Post-Hook]
But in the middle of the night
I know something ain't right
We've got something special, girl
Let's give it a try

[Bridge]
One night of love
You know you owe it to me
Just (Just), mmh, (One) one
Tender touch of loving and holding (Holding)
Gimme your love, gimme your love, gimme your love, baby
Gimme your love, yeah
One night of love
You know you owe it, baby
Just (Just), (One) one (Tender touch)
Tender touch of loving (Loving) and holding (holding)
Gimme your love, gimme your love, gimme your love
Gimme your love

[Chorus]
One night of touchin', oh, oh, oh, baby
Two nights of trust, you better believe, you better believe, believe it, baby
Three nights of huggin', tell me what it makes, oh yeah
Makes one night of love, that makes one night of love, baby
One night of touchin', you and me, one on one
Two nights of trust, love's gonna be so much fun
Three nights of huggin', yeah, woah
Makes one night of love, that makes, that makes one night of love
One night of touchin', you got that look in your eyes
Two nights of trust, love is yours, love is mine
Three nights of huggin', uh, love you, baby, love you, love you, baby
Makes one night of love, that makes one night of love
One night of touchin', truly, truly I do love you, baby
Two nights of trust, don't you know, don't you know
Three nights of huggin', only makes, girl, I got what it takes
Makes one night of love, to get it right down to love this time

[Outro]
One night of touchin', one night, one night, girl
Two nights of trust, two nights of what I do
Three nights of huggin', oh, oh
Makes one night of love, oh
One night of touchin', one night, one night, girl

After 7

After 7 is a group originating from Indianapolis, Indiana, and consists of brothers Melvin Edmonds and Kevon Edmonds along with their friend Keith Mitchell. The group came together in 1987 after Melvin and Kevon’s brother, superstar singer/songwriter/producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds brought them out to Los Angeles as he was starting to move up in the music business. Babyface, along with his partner L.A. Reid, wrote and produced 7 out of 9 songs on After 7’s platinum self-titled debut album released in 1989. L.A. & ‘Face produced the album’s three singles — the Top 20 pop hit “Heat of the Moment” as well as the #1 R&B hits “Ready or Not” and “Can’t Stop,” which were both Top 10 pop hits. They followed this album with another popular song, their 1991 Top 10 R&B single “Nights Like This” from the movie The Five Heartbeats.

L.A. & Face weren’t as involved in their next two albums — 1992’s Takin' My Time and 1995’s Reflections — but these albums still went Gold thanks to their respective Top 5 R&B hit singles “Baby, I’m For Real/Natural High” and “‘Til You Do Me Right.”

The group disbanded in 1997 after issues with their label Virgin Records and Kevon Edmonds went on to release his solo album 24/7 in 1999. As discussions to reconvene took place, Melvin Edmonds decided not to tour with the group, so his son Jason Edmonds took his spot. The four of them came together to create their 2016 album Timeless, which featured production from Babyface and his longtime musical partner Daryl Simmons.
