[Verse 1]
I been out walking
By the shore
The air was still
And still the water cold
And I want you to know
I'm thinking of you

[Verse 2]
This kind of chill
It helps me cope
I was so young to leave you all alone
And I want you to know
I'm thinking of you

[Chorus]
All the pretty girls they find
The way to keep you on my mind
I swear I heard you singing along
Cities pass like into stars
And you're the one I'm looking for
It's so wrong
I didn't know until you were gone
Tell me my love, you're ready to go
Don't leave me all on my own
Cause I'm just a boy
Who's telling a girl
That when I grow up I'll buy you a rose
When I grow up I'll buy you a rose

[Verse 3]
And now I'm walking in the rain
I couldn't lie cause I was so afraid
And I want you to say
You're thinking of me

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
Baby tell me that you love me so
Can you let me know
Can you hold me close
(Hold me close)
Baby tell me you'll forgive me now
Cause I don't know how I can let you down
Hey, Hey, Hey

[Outro]
Tell me my love, you're ready to go?
Don't leave me all on my own
And so
I'm just a boy who's telling a girl
That when I grow up I'll buy you a rose
(I'm gonna buy you a rose Yeah)
Tell me my love, you're ready to go?
Don't leave me all on my own
And so
I'm just a boy who's telling a girl
That when I grow up I'll buy you a rose
(I'm gonna buy you a rose Yeah)
When I grow up I'll buy you a rose
Yeah when I grow up I'll buy you a rose

AJR

The indie-pop band AJR—three brothers born and raised in New York City—achieved a startlingly quick level of success with 2013 track “I’m Ready", a buoyant electro-pop smash that was featured in the trailer for Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck and became certified US Platinum in 2015.

Adam Met (bass/vocals), is the oldest brother, a Columbia University graduate. Ryan Met (ukulele/piano/vocals), a bespectacled ‘94 kid is the band’s main songwriter, also having co-written Andy Grammer hits “Back Home” and the certified gold “Good To Be Alive”. Jack Met (vocals/guitar), is the lead vocalist who splits time between the band and attending Columbia.

AJR began in 2005, busking on the streets and in the parks of New York. Raised on vinyls from the 50s and 60s, AJR was initially inspired by the likes of The Beach Boys and Frankie Valli, but the original sound they’ve now created resembles a modern mix of those classic sounds, with flavors of Imagine Dragons, fun., and hip-hop production elements pointing towards Kanye West.
