[Verse 1]
Deadlines and meetings and contracts all breached
D-days and structure, responsibility
Have to's and need to's and get to's by three
Eleventh hours and upset employees

[Chorus]
I wanna be naked running through the streets
I wanna invite this so-called chaos that you'd think I dare not be
I wanna be weightless flying through the air
I wanna drop all these limitations at the shoes upon my feet

[Verse 2]
Heartburn and headaches
And soon-to-be ulcers
Compulsive yearnings
Non stop to please others

[Chorus]
I wanna be naked running through the streets
I wanna invite this so-called chaos that you'd think I dare not be
I wanna be weightless flying through the air
I wanna drop all these limitations at the shoes upon my feet

[Verse 3]
All won't be lost if I'm governed by my own innate-ness
Stoplights won't work I'll get home sound and safe regardless
And won't be mayhem if I'm ruled by my own rule-lessness
My fire won't quell and I'll be harm free and distressless
Trust me

[verse 4]
Line-towing and helping
Expectations up to living
Inside-box-obeying
Inside-line-coloring

[Chorus]
I wanna be naked running through the streets
I wanna invite this so-called chaos that you'd think I dare not be
I wanna be weightless flying through the air
I wanna drop all these limitations at the shoes upon my feet

[Outro]
I wanna be naked running through the streets
I wanna invite this so-called chaos that you'd think I dare not be
I wanna be weightless flying through the air
I wanna drop all these limitations and return to what I was born to be

Alanis Morissette

Alanis Nadine Morissette was born on June 1, 1974, in Ottawa, Canada. At age 6, she began taking piano lessons, and by the time she was 9, she was writing her own songs.

When she was 11, Morissette joined the cast of a Nickelodeon children’s show called You Can’t Do That on Television, and saved up her earnings. In 1987, she used them to self-release her first track, “Fate Stay With Me.” The song caught the attention of record label MCA Canada; at age 14, Morissette signed a contract with the company. She released a self-titled album, Alanis, in 1991, which went platinum. Quickly following up the success of her first album, Morissette released Now Is The Time a year later, though it did not reach the same level of popularity.

In 1994 Morissette moved to Los Angeles teamed up with industry veteran Glen Ballard, and she began to approach songwriting more organically.
