(Good evening)
(We're gonna do a song that you never heard before)

[Verse 1]
A downtown café Saturday evening
And the place is about to be closed
I'm meeting my baby
Yeah, and order my hundredth cup of coffee today
My hands are shaking

At half past seven I'm sitting here waiting
For my boy all alone for too long
It's after eleven, yeah
I'm tired of waiting and I'm gonna go home
'Cause I don't need this

You better think twice before you break all the rules
You got to be crazy if you think I'm a fool

[Chorus]
I'll walk away and say goodbye
If you don't want me anymore
(I've got my pride)
I'll walk away and say goodbye
If I don't get the love we had before
(Not satisfied)

[Verse 2]
He finally gets here
I'm waiting for him to ask me
Why there's a frown on my face
He orders a cold beer
He has an excuse about his car
Breaking down but I don't buy it

You're giving me something I don't need anymore
Just give me the word and I'll be slamming the door

[Chorus]
I'll walk away and say goodbye
If you don't want me anymore
(I've got my pride)
I'll walk away and say goodbye
If I don't get the love we had before
(Not satisfied)

I'll walk away and say goodbye
If you don't want me anymore

(Good evening)
(We're gonna do a song that you never heard before)

[Verse 3]
His best intentions are never the same
As what he does of the end of the day
I'm feeling the tension, yeah
Don't give me no reasons
'Cause you don't comprehend what am I feeling

You better think twice before you break all the rules
You gotta be crazy if you think I'm a fool
You're giving me something I don't need anymore
Just give me the word and I'll be slamming the door

[Chorus]
I'll walk away and say goodbye
If you don't want me anymore
I'll walk away and say goodbye
If I don't get the love we had before

I'll walk away and say goodbye
If you don't want me anymore
(I've got my pride)
I'll walk away and say goodbye
If I don't get the love we had before
(Not satisfied)

I'll walk away and say goodbye
If you don't want me anymore
(I've got my pride)
I'll walk away and say goodbye
If I don't get the love we had before

[Outro]
So tell me now
Just say the word
It won't be long
I'll be long, long gone

I'll walk away and say goodbye
I'll walk away just say the word
I'll walk away and say goodbye

Alanis Morissette

Alanis Nadine Morissette was born on June 1, 1974, in Ottawa, Canada. At age 6, she began taking piano lessons, and by the time she was 9, she was writing her own songs.

When she was 11, Morissette joined the cast of a Nickelodeon children’s show called You Can’t Do That on Television, and saved up her earnings. In 1987, she used them to self-release her first track, “Fate Stay With Me.” The song caught the attention of record label MCA Canada; at age 14, Morissette signed a contract with the company. She released a self-titled album, Alanis, in 1991, which went platinum. Quickly following up the success of her first album, Morissette released Now Is The Time a year later, though it did not reach the same level of popularity.

In 1994 Morissette moved to Los Angeles teamed up with industry veteran Glen Ballard, and she began to approach songwriting more organically.
