It was a thing that you had
That you'd store
The world was ours
But I wanted more
March to the beat of your drum
Something you had
That was won

Control is how you got that
Is it something that you want to be?
Well control is how you got that
Is it something that you couldn't see?

See the truth, see the truth
That you made at night
I know I know that I got it right
There was something on my mind that I can't explain
There was something on my mind that I can't explain

Was the moment you got in my car
It was the moment that we drove so far
It wasn't something you could have escaped
Her name was Wendy, my mistake

Control is how you got that
Is it something that you want to be?
Well control is how you got that
Is it something that you couldn't see?

See the truth, see the truth
That you're late at night
I know I know that I got it right
There was something on my mind that I can't explain
There was something on my mind that I can't explain

See the truth, see the truth
That you it's late at night
I know I know that I got it right
There was something on my mind that I can't explain
There was something on my mind that I can't explain

See the truth, see the truth
That you're late at night
I know I know that I got it right
There was something on my mind that I can't explain
There was something on my mind that I can't explain

Albert Hammond Jr.

Though best known as a guitarist and keyboardist for The Strokes, Hammond has also been performing periodic solo work since his 2006 debut album Yours To Keep.

Still a member of The Strokes despite the controversy surrounding and following their 2013 album Comedown Machine, Hammond began to gain more traction upon releasing his 2013 AHJ – EP under Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas‘ Cult Records Label.

Though still an official part of his bandmate’s label, he released his 2015 album Momentary Masters through Vagrant Records.
