[Pre-Hook]
I've been writin' all these paragraphs
Select it all, delete
And never write your ass back
Feel easily defeated
Why's it gotta be like that?
You say you gonna leave and then you come right back

[Hook]
Swear to God, swear to God
We been goin' through it, goin' through it
I know I put you through some shit, one time
Don't do this, don't do this
Let me prove that I'm the man, one time
So cold, so ruthless
I'ma beg you on my knees, one time
Just stay right here, don't let me go, yeah

[Post-Hook]
Don't lose your head
I didn't mean to lose my head
I didn't mean to lose you, lose you, lose you
I didn't mean to lose you, lose you, lose you

[Verse]
Maybe it was summertime sweetness, Saturdays we got some
Everything was awesome, I didn't see the problem
Drinkin' from the bottle 'til we blacked out from mixing
Dreamin' 'bout the days we'd be carefree, living

But we lived carefree, at that time I didn't know it yet
I felt the love in my heart, but didn't show it yet
And now I'm writing all these paragraphs
I just wanna make it last, wanna make it last

blackbear

blackbear is the stage name of LA-based producer and singer-songwriter Mat Musto, popularly known for co-writing Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend,” in 2012. Some of his first collaborations were with the likes of Pharrell Williams, MGK, and Childish Gambino. Later, Musto reinvented himself—he coined the name blackbear from a previous EP titled Year of the Blackbear. Under his new name, he started leaning more towards rapping and an R&B-oriented style.

His first mixtape Sex included collaborations with his peers James Blake, Maejor Ali, and “Boyfriend” co-writer Mike Posner. The Afterglow followed in 2014.

In 2015, blackbear released “idfc,” as the lead single from his debut album Deadroses. It increased his fan following and revenue, earning him millions of playback streams and a spot on Billboard’s Uncharted List of Undiscovered and Upcoming Artists. The second single, “90210,” included a feature from G-Eazy—blackbear made an appearance in his 2014 track, “Remember You.”
