BoofBoiIcy, formerly known as Lil Icy, is a rapper associated with the SoundCloud rap movement.

Throughout his life Icy has lived in many different parts of the he was born in Baltimore, Maryland and grew up in Dayton, Ohio, the city he credits for raising him. In 2014, Icy moved to Dallas, Texas for school and in 2016 he relocated to Los Angeles, California, where he currently resides.

Icy’s rapping style is characterized by heavy use of ad-libs, simple yet energized lyrics, and emphasis on flow (sometimes leaving words to be lost as a mumble). Many have suggested these aspects of Icy’s rapping to have influenced (or developed alongside) Playboi Carti, who was a contemporary of Icy’s during the forming times of both artist’s careers (2015-16).
