[Verse 1]
I thought my faith was gone
And I was left so blind
I put my best foot forward
Still a step behind
Underneath that bridge
Where we wrote our names
I wonder if it's still there
And if a chance remains

[Pre-Chorus]
For that feeling
To be with someone who means it
To give me some kind of reason
To walk through the fire (To walk through the fire)
'Cause I needed something I can believe in
You and I was so near it
But we drifted apart

[Chorus]
(So what, so what)
I know I'll be alright
(So what, so what)
But when I close my eyes
I don't wanna let you, I don't wanna let you
I don't wanna let you go

[Verse 2]
I used to dream out loud
I used to midnight dance
Lost a couple lovers
Lost my common sense
Though the water rises
Though the bridges burn
I know that I can love again
'Cause of you I learned

[Pre-Chorus + Chorus x2]

[Outro]
I wish tomorrow would come a little slower
Wish that you would come a little closer tonight
Just for tonight

Boyz II Men

Boyz II Men is an R&B vocal quartet from Philadelphia who became the most successful pop group of the 1990s. They’re best known for their passionate ballads, including the number one hits “End of The Road,” “On Bended Knee,” and “I’ll Make Love To You.”

An early version of the group was founded by Nathan Morris in the mid 1980s while attending the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts, where he recruited students Wanya Morris, Shawn Stockman, and Michael McCary. Singer Marc Nelson was also an early member, but left the group before their big break.

The group—who took its name from New Edition’s song “Boys To Men”—was discovered in 1988 after auditioning for New Edition’s Michael Bivins backstage at a concert. Bivins signed the group to his management company and secured them a contract with Motown Records.
