Lyrics from Snippet

[Verse]
I can't believe you thought that I was Mr. Perfect
I can't believe you thought that I was even worth it
I swear I look at you sometimes and I get nervous
Conspiracy theories wrapped around your kisses like Hershey's
Our story's so choreographed, it feels like you rehearsed it
I admit I threw my hat in the ring, I'm Michael Jackson
But I figured that your reaction would be allergic
I shot my shot thinkin' before they hang up my number
They'll probably burn my jersey
Call up the pastor clergy
Call up the plastic surgeon
Call 'em the brand new version
Call me whatever you want, just call me back like it's urgent
I learned the art of forgiveness from the son of a virgin
I made so many clean slates that I could sell you detergent
I'm from a city full of finesses and janky merchants
Fragrance in pagan churches
Debt collectors that settle vendetta better in person
I wasn't warned last week, yesterday I was nursing
Can't believe that you thought that I was perfect
My hidden blisters turn to pimples on the surface
I should've known from the beginning I was nervous
You pulled the wool over my eyes just like my shirt [?]

[Interlude]
First day but the next day

[Verse 2]
Don't have me out here thinking that I'm Neo
Don't have me out here oracle Miss Cleo
Don't have me out here thinking that I'm Superman of Steel
When you know the cap is real like you're familiar with Leo
Ay dios mios while I be a monkey's tio
Standing ovations when I reinve-

Chance the Rapper

Chancellor Johnathan Bennett (born April 16, 1993), known professionally as Chance the Rapper, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor from the West Chatham neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.

Chance is the frontman and lead vocalist for the band The Social Experiment. His unconventional, bohemian approach to releasing music has led the wave of independent artists garnering national attention without a backing label. His first two acclaimed solo projects 10 Day (2012) and Acid Rap (2013) have been called “classic” by Rolling Stone and Billboard Magazine. Before his solo work, Chance was part of a hip-hop duo named Instrumentality with his friend Justin. Apart from his solo career, he is a member of the Chicago collective SAVEMONEY (along with frequent collaborator Vic Mensa).

In 2015, Chance released a collaborative project titled Surf with Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment as a free album available through iTunes, and also became the first unsigned artist to perform on Saturday Night Live. His highly anticipated third solo project Coloring Book was released in 2016 via Apple Music to widespread praise from fans and critics alike, garnering a Metacritic score of 90 indicating “universal acclaim.” Coloring Book was also the first ever streaming-exclusive album to chart on the Billboard 200, debuting at number 8.
