[Verse: Chance the Rapper]
Someone said we just a buncha insignificant slobs
Scattered blips without a intricate plot
Untethered, independent from effect or a cause
When you finna get robbed, would you rather have a gun or have God?
Everybody got two knees to drop to, few D's in high school
Two eyes to watch you, impeach you
My children sneeze, like, "Achoo," say cheese
They gotchu teen mad, they not you
Bench press, they spot you
Difference in the have and have nots
The timin' of havin' was not lifetime to have jobs
When you lookin' at the bills and you can't afford all your bills
Tell me, really, would you rather have a gun or have God?
I done tip-toed up and down the shadowed path
Seen the type of fights that make you tear up like a battled past
Backpackin', battle, uphill in a avalanche
Reached out the olive branch, turned down the apple branch
Poured up some apple cran', turned up the apple store
Turned it into apple core 'till they didn't have no more
But I didn't have none of that when my auntie had died
Would you rather have a gun or have God?
You wanna pray to the universe, end up leavin' like Juniper
I heard men that fall in love with world are usually from Jupiter
Conversations are super current, the truth is the super sermon
The Ubers are two Suburbans, the bills is on Uma Thurman
And life is a breeze, and your lungs is on breathe
And your heat is on beat, and it's shit on your fleas
And its shoes on your feet, and its love in your heart
Tell me, really, would you rather have a gun or have God?

[Outro]
Would you rather have a gun or have God?

Chance the Rapper

Chance is the frontman and lead vocalist for the band The Social Experiment. His unconventional, bohemian approach to releasing music has led the wave of independent artists garnering national attention without a backing label. His first two acclaimed solo projects 10 Day (2012) and Acid Rap (2013) have been called “classic” by Rolling Stone and Billboard Magazine. Before his solo work, Chance was part of a hip-hop duo named Instrumentality with his friend Justin. Apart from his solo career, he is a member of the Chicago collective SAVEMONEY (along with frequent collaborator Vic Mensa).

In 2015, Chance released a collaborative project titled Surf with Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment as a free album available through iTunes, and also became the first unsigned artist to perform on Saturday Night Live. His highly anticipated third solo project Coloring Book was released in 2016 via Apple Music to widespread praise from fans and critics alike, garnering a Metacritic score of 90 indicating “universal acclaim.” Coloring Book was also the first ever streaming-exclusive album to chart on the Billboard 200, debuting at number 8.
