India Arie Simpson, known as India.Arie, is a Grammy-winning R&B artist.

She began in 2001 with her debut single “Video”, which peaked in the top fifty on the Billboard Hot 100. Her debut album Acoustic Soul was released that year to critical and commercial success, peaking in the top ten on the Billboard 200 and is certified double-platinum. She released her second album the next year called Voyage to India which peaked at number six on the Billboard 200, won a Grammy Award, topped the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and is certified platinum by the RIAA. It featured the Grammy-awarded single “Little Things”.

Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship was India’s third album released in 2006, which was certified gold by the RIAA. It spawned a minor hit called “I Am Not My Hair”. Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics is the sequel released in 2009. Songversation, Christmas with Friends, and Worthy were released in 2013 and 2015 respectively.
