[Intro: DeVante Swing & K-Ci]
Don't talk, just listen
First of all
I have to be honest with you, baby
I lied
When I told you I never wanted to see you again
Can you (Please stay, babe, hey, ay)
Just for tonight?
And maybe we can do something like
Make love, watch the sunrise
Or listen to JoJo, K-Ci sing us a verse
Slide, close, baby
Ha, let DeVante feel you
Oh, you feel so sexy and so good

[Verse 1: JoJo]
I'm sorry I left you, I left you crying
Since you've been gone, I've been all alone
'Cause all of my tears, you know they left me drowning
Please, baby I'm begging for you to stay at home

[Pre-Chorus: Jodeci & JoJo]
Tonight, let's start our love again (Start love again)
Tonight, we could be more than just friends
(Don't you know) The sun (You know what?) it is going down
So baby won't you stay for a little while
(Baby, won't...)

[Chorus: Jodeci, JoJo]
Baby, won't you just stay?
Baby, won't you just stay?
For a little while
Baby, won't you just stay?
Oh oh, for a little while
Baby, won't you just stay?

[Interlude: DeVante Swing, K-Ci, Jodeci]
(Ooh, babe...)
Check this out here
Baby, won't you just stay?
(Ooh yeah)

[Verse 2: K-Ci & JoJo]
So here we are
Just me and you (Ooh yeah)
Thinking of the things that we used to do, babe, haha
(Tonight is yours)
Tonight is yours, lady
Yours and mine (Ooh yeah)
Let's try again to put our trust on the line

[Pre-Chorus: Jodeci, K-Ci, JoJo]
Tonight, let's start our love again (Start our love again)
Tonight, we can be more than just friends
(You know the sun) The sun is going down
So baby won't you stay for a little while
(Forget about yesterday, stay)

[Chorus: Jodeci, K-Ci, JoJo]
Baby, won't you just stay? (Oh, oh)
Baby, won't you just stay?
For a little while (I'm sorry I left you, baby)
Baby, won't you just stay? (Yes, I am; yes, I am)
For a little while (I'm sorry I left you crying, baby)
Baby, won't you just stay? (Yes, I am; yes, I am)
For a little while (I want my baby, baby)

[Bridge: Jodeci]
Forget about yesterday
'Cause I want you so bad
Make love to me
Like you never have
My love is coming down
Baby, won't you just stay for a little while

[Outro: K-Ci, JoJo, Jodeci]
Baby, won't you just stay?
For a little while
I'm sorry I've done you so wrong, so wrong
And I really need you to come back home
I'm on my bended knee
I'm begging you please
No-no-no-no-no, no-no-no-no-no, no-no-no-no-no
No-no-no-no-no, (Stay) no-no-no-no-no-no-no
Come on back, come on back
Come on back, yeah, oh, oh, oh yeah, oh yeah

Jodeci

Started in 1983, Jodeci is comprised of two sets of brothers—Cedric and Joel Hailey (also known as K-Ci and JoJo) and Donald and Dalvin Degrate (also known as DeVante Swing and Mr. Dalvin). Jodeci were once known as the “bad boys of R&B,” notable particularly because they were actually boys at the time, breaking out as teenagers in 1991 with their debut album and its title ballad, “Forever My Lady.” Natives of North Carolina, they were discovered by Heavy D, who overheard their demo when an A&R at Uptown was in the process of passing on them. Heavy D introduced Jodeci to Uptown founder Andre Harrell, who signed them after they sang in his office, and handed them off to his then-protégé Puff Daddy, who outfitted the group in dark shades and coordinating leather ensembles. The look, along with the streetwise soul found in songs like “Cry 4 U” and “Feenin” (as well as a few run-ins with the law) made them the antithesis to good-guy personas of then-peaking R&B superstars Boyz II Men. Devante, who along with Mr. Dalvin held down production duties for the group, founded the Swing Mob, a collective responsible for the discovery of musical geniuses like Timbaland, Missy Elliott, and Static Major. As a group, Jodeci would go on to release three critically-acclaimed album in the ‘90s, before disappearing from the limelight. K-Ci and JoJo splintered off as a duo in 1997, producing hit single “All My Life” and, eventually, five albums, but adoring fans never let go of their Jodeci obsession. In March, the group released The Past, The Present, The Future, the first Jodeci album in two decades. Jodeci, if y'all reading this, where’d you go?
