[Verse 1]
I can tell, I can tell how much you hate this
And deep down inside, you know it's killin' me
I can call, wish you well, and try to change this
But nothin' I can say would change anything
Where were my senses?
I left them all behind
Why did I turn away?
Away

[Chorus]
I wish I could save you
I wish I could say to you
I'm not goin' nowhere
I wish I could say to you
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright

[Verse 2]
Didn't mean, didn't mean to leave you stranded
Went away 'cause I didn't wanna face the truth
Reachin' out, reach for me empty handed
You don't know if I care, you're tryin' to find the proof
There were times I'd wonder: "Could I have eased your pain?"
Why did I turn away?
Away

[Chorus]
I wish I could save you
I wish I could say to you
I'm not goin' nowhere
I wish I could say to you
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
Save you (It's gonna be alright)
I wish I could save you

[Bridge]
We can pretend nothing's changed
Pretend it's all the same
And there will be no pain tonight
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright

[Outro]
Save you (It's gonna be alright)
I wish I could save you
I'm not goin' nowhere
I wish I could say to you
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
Save you (It's gonna be alright)
I wish I could save you
It's gonna be alright

In 2002, she came to prominence after winning the first season of American Idol, and has since been established as “The Original American Idol”. Her debut single, “A Moment Like This”, topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and broke the record for the biggest jump to number one in the chart’s history.

Clarkson went in a different direction with her self-creatively-controlled third album, My December. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and produced the top-ten single “Never Again.” Her fourth album, All I Ever Wanted debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Lead single “My Life Would Suck Without You” re-broke the record for biggest jump to number one on the Hot 100, jumping 97-1 in its second week on the chart. The record still stands today.
