[Verse 1]
If I share a little secret
Can you keep it?
It wasn't supposed to be a thing
Disco ballin' every weekend
Till you walked in (Disco)
You got me seeing different

[Pre-Chorus]
I was wishing my time away
Ay-ay-ay, ay-ay-ay
Now I'm wishing for one more day
Ay-ay-ay, ay-ay-ay

[Chorus]
Come on
One second without you is just too long
Been calling out your name like it's my song
Keep counting down the days to you
It's getting me through those Monday blues

[Post-Chorus]
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
It's the weekend (It's the weekend)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
It's the weekend (It's the weekend)

[Verse 2]
I thought that we were only doing the hustle
I let my heart go
I got to know your skeleton
You told me you like Earth, Wind and Fire
And that made my mind up
Baby, I remember when

[Pre-Chorus]
I was wishing my time away
Ay-ay-ay, ay-ay-ay
Now I'm wishing for one more day
Ay-ay-ay, ay-ay-ay

[Chorus]
Come on
One second without you is just too long
Been calling out your name like it's my song
Keep counting down the days to you
It's getting me through those Monday blues

[Post-Chorus]
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
It's the weekend (It's the weekend)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
It's the weekend (It's the weekend)

[Bridge]
Oh
You make every day feel like Saturday
Let's go
Oh, you get me through those Monday blues (Come on)
Ooh-ooh
Get me to the weekend
Get me to the weekend
Ooh-ooh (Ooh)
Get me to the weekend
Get me to the weekend

[Chorus]
Come on
One second without you is just too long
Been calling out your name like it's my song
Keep counting down the days to you
It's getting me through those Monday blues

[Outro]
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
It's the weekend (It's the weekend)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
It's the weekend (It's the weekend)

Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue is an Australian singer, songwriter, and actress. Often referred to as the Goddess of Pop with a career spanning over 30 years, she has transformed from girl-next-door soap star to ‘90s pop starlet, and short-lived indie darling to bona fide superstar.

Kylie earned her first big break on the Australian soap opera Neighbours, playing tomboy mechanic Charlene Mitchell. An on-screen romance with Jason Donovan – who played Scott Robinson – blossomed into a real-life relationship, and their wedding on the soap drew in millions of viewers. However, her real ambition was a successful career in music, and by 1988 her debut album, Kylie, was released, reaching #1 in the UK and Australia. Notching up 10 UK Top 3 singles by 1993, she was one of the defining popstars of the early ‘90s. Her follow-ups to the debut album – Enjoy Yourself, Rhythm of Love and Let’s Get To It – all reached the Top 15 in the UK.

With a blossoming relationship with late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence, Kylie was encouraged to be more ambitious with her image and sound. As such, she left her former label, PWL, and released the daring “Confide In Me” in early 1994. Critics praised her re-invention, and the single restored the success she had somewhat lost with her previous album. Impossible Princess was another critical success but failed to make much of an impact on the charts, which led some media outlets to believe that her “15 minutes of fame” were over.
