[Intro]
We need to have a conversation

[Verse 1: LL Cool J]
I made you, why would I play you?
Trade home base for a California angel
Swing at a fast bitch, foul out betray you
When I won't even wanna hit it in a day or two
Straight home I'd run, well that's debatable
I can't front, I hit a slump, all players do
But tough times are minor, to a major dude
We all lose sometimes, I call it paying dues
Now you're searching other clubs for what's available
A year ago my slot was unassailable
My feast is a famine without you to cater to
If these walls could talk, what would they say to you?

[Hook: Ne-Yo]
Don't understand what we're going though
But it's like you don't know me
And I don't know you, no more
Not no more!
And it's like, damn how the hell we get here?
No idea, but we're not what we were before
Could it be that I don't love you
And you don't love me no more?
That girl don't live here, not no more!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that girl no more!

[Verse 2: LL Cool J]
The dining room has an empty chair
The mirrored staircase has an empty stair
House full of company, but no ones here
We're saying cheers while we're holding back tears
To keep up appearances in front of our peers
We play holiday card tricks every year
Black jack, poker, make the joker disappear
The ace can't breathe when there's tension in the air
Three clubs in one night, but nobody cares
Cause it's still not a full house without a pair
You tipped your hand, but the text wasn't clear
You're dealing from the bottom queen of hearts, play fair!

[Hook]

[Verse 3: LL Cool J]
Slip in the door, you hold my hopes so
All I hear is love don't live here anymore
We can tear the house down or build some scaffold
We're sitting on a fence, so where you wanna go?
You're the architect of your life, it's your show
You create the blueprint and how the rooms flow
Before you burn the house down, think, take it slow
Even arsonists needs shelter, let me know!

[Hook]

LL Cool J

Deriving his name from the statement “Ladies Love Cool James,” LL Cool J became a superstar rapper after his Def Jam debut in 1984. He mixed a hardcore hip-hop style from songs like “I’m Bad” with R&B style on songs like “I Need Love,” which led him to multi-platinum success and several awards. He would later venture into movies and television, write several books, and start different business ventures.

Born January 14, 1968, Queens, New York native James Todd Smith began rapping at the age of nine and started to seriously pursue rapping when he was 16 years old after his grandfather bought him music equipment, which he used to create a demo tape that was sent to numerous labels. He was signed by upstart independent label Def Jam, working with founders Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin to release his debut single “I Need a Beat” in 1984, which sold over 100,000 copies. This success helped Def Jam secure a distribution deal with Columbia Records.

LL released his debut album Radio in 1985, which achieved platinum status with help from the hit singles “I Can’t Live Without My Radio” and “Rock the Bells.” After working exclusively with Rick Rubin on his debut, LL worked with the West Coast production crew L.A. Posse on his second album Bigger and Deffer, released in 1987. The album featured two of LL’s signature the hard-edged “I’m Bad” and the “rap ballad” “I Need Love,” which was a Top 20 pop hit, helping the album achieve double platinum status.
