[Intro]
Yeah
Yeah Eid Mubarak (y’know what I’m sayin’)
Just Lu
Bars for the Eid Mubars
Eid Mubarses (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Yeah, yeah
Let's Go (yeah)

[Verse 1: Lupe Fiasco]
Uh
Tell 'em welcome to the rarefied
Heir of "I can't be up and terrified"
Pterodactyl-sharing, Red Baron meets the Tuskegee Airmen vibes
Barrel rolling, daring dives
Come back to base like he Derrick Hodge
Sing my prayers like I'm scared of God
In my backyard doing samurai moves, wearing pods
He's kinda square and odd
From an era where we called sharing cops
Been on Ohio we once sharing cars
Mind of Aristotle, larynx of a professor of Meritas
You might be your city's, but I'm America's
Fill in the blanks, kill 'em with thanks

[Chorus: Kali Uchis]
You know I'm just a flight away
If you want it you could take a private plane
A kilómetros estamos conectando
Y me prendes aunque no me estés tocando
You know I got a lot to say
All these voices in the background of my brain
Y me dicen todo lo que estás pensando
Me imagino lo que ya estás maquinando

[Verse 2: Lupe Fiasco]
Yeah
Kill 'em with thanks, that's that Jean Grey
I walk a lonely road, that's that Green Day
Far from weak, a young black history month heralding good news
Mild sauce jumping out my wing tray
House on vinyl, money kinda vital, and when it turn rival
You go against the Bucks like Phoenix in the finals
Don't lose your congregation by preaching to the Bible
I'm in the zone
My friends are still alive and I'm rhyming like a diamond in my dome, wordplay
Tell Huggy I want a Uzi for my birthday
All these push-ups and curls got me filling out like surveys
I'm just studying religion
Chil interrupt my sessions with phone calls from prison
Been out the game, Hall of Fame reported me missing
When I gold this album, oh I'll be back to get my position
Eyahhh

[Chorus: Kali Uchis and Lupe Fiasco]
You know I'm just a flight away
If you want it you could take a private plane (woo)
A kilómetros estamos conectando (yeah)
Y me prendes aunque no me estés tocando (yeah, yeah)
You know I got a lot to say
All these voices in the background of my brain (yeah)
Y me dicen todo lo que estás pensando (ahh)
Me imagino lo que ya estás maquinando

Lupe Fiasco

The Chicago born Wasalu Muhammad Jaco first tasted success when he featured on Kanye West’s hit “Touch the Sky”, a track that shortly preceded his real breakout, his 2006 debut album Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor, and he never looked back. He has established himself as one of the greatest urban wordsmiths of all time, with Genius even dubbing him the ‘Proust of Rap’.

While he’s now regarded of one of the 21st Century’s Hip-Hop greats, he wasn’t always a fan of the genre, initially disliking it due to the prominence of vulgarity and misogyny within it. In his late teens, he aspired to make it as a lyricist. In his early twenty’s, he met Jay-Z, who helped him sign with Atlantic Records in 2005. The following year, he released his debut album (Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor), which was met with acclaim from fans and critics alike, as did his sophomore effort, Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool.

The following eight years of his career saw far less output than many would’ve anticipated. This can be partly attributed to his struggles with Atlantic Records. The executives wanted him to sign a 360 deal; however, as he refused to do so they instead shelved his already completed 3rd album, Lasers, and wouldn’t promote him as they had previously. The overseers at the label also interfered with his music (as they had tried to do with his fan-favorite track “Dumb it Down”); subsequently effecting the quality and sound of his third and fourth albums.
