[Spoken Intro]
Thank you
Thank you so much, ladies and gentlemen
Thank you so much, that's so nice

Woo, we're gonna go back for the sake of going old too
Wanting a few oldies but goodies, I hope they're goodies
(Ain't that peculiar, ain't that peculiar)

[Verse 1]
Honey, you do me wrong but still i'm crazy about you
Hey, stay away too long and I can't do without you
Woo, every chance you get you seem to hurt me more and more
Ah ah, each hurt makes my love stronger than before
I know flowers grow through rain
But how can love grow from pain?
(Pain, pain, pain, pain)

[Chorus]
Ain't that peculiar (Ain't that peculiar)
A peculiar-ality (Ain't that peculiar)
Ain't that peculiar, baby (Ain't that peculiar)
Peculiar as can be (Ain't that peculiar)
Oh

[Verse 2]
You tell me lies that should be obvious to me
But I'm so much in love with you, baby, I don't want to see
That things you do and say are designed to make me blue
It's a doggone shame my love for you
Makes all your lies seem true
But if the truth makes love last longer
Why do lies make my love stronger?
(Stronger, stronger, stronger, stronger)

[Chorus]
Ain't that peculiar (Ain't that peculiar)
A peculiar-ality (Ain't that peculiar)
Ain't that peculiar, baby (Ain't that peculiar)
Peculiar as can be (Ain't that peculiar)
Oh

[Bridge]
Hey baby, I feel alright
Ain't it peculiar, baby
Peculiar day and night
Oh, hey baby, hey now, ain't it peculiar
Come on, sugar, ah ah yeah, ah yeah
Ah yeah, I'm ready, hey...

[Drum solo]

Marvin Gaye

Marvin Gaye was one of the most consistent and enigmatic of the Motown hitmakers, with a career that exemplified the maturation of black pop into a sophisticated form spanning social and sexual politics.

Blessed with a mellifluous tenor and a three-octave vocal range, Gaye was among the most gifted composers and singers of his era. His life ended tragically one day before his 45th birthday, when he was shot to death by his father, an Apostolic preacher, after a violent argument.
