[Intro]
"If I only could, I'd be running up that hill
If I only could, I'd be running up that hill"

[Verse 1]
It doesn't hurt me
You want to feel how it feels?
You want to know, know that it doesn't hurt me?
You want to hear about the deal I'm making?

[Pre-Chorus 1]
You (Be running up that hill)
You and me (Be running up that hill)

[Chorus 1]
And if I only could
Make a deal with God
I'd get him to swap our places
Be running up that road
Be running up that hill
Be running up that building
If I only could, oh-oh

[Verse 2]
You don't want to hurt me
But see how deep the bullet lies
Unaware that I'm tearing you asunder
There's a thunder in our hearts, baby
So much hate for the ones we love
Tell me, we both matter, don't we?

[Pre-Chorus 2]
You (Be running up that hill)
You and me (Be running up that hill)
You and me won't be unhappy

[Chorus 1]
And if I only could
Make a deal with God
I'd get him to swap our places
Be running up that road
Be running up that hill
Be running up that building
If I only could, oh-oh

[Bridge]
Come on, baby, come on, come on, darling
Let me steal this moment from you now
Come on, angel, come on, come on, darling
Let's exchange the experience, oh-oh

[Chorus 2]
And if I only could
Make a deal with God
And get him to swap our places
Be running up that road
Be running up that hill
With no problem

[Chorus 2]
If I only could
Make a deal with God
I'd get him to swap our places
Be running up that road
Be running up that hill
With no problem

[Outro]
(If I only could
Be running up that hill
If I only could
Be running up that hill
If I only could
Be running up that hill
If I only could
Be running up that hill
If I only could
Be running up that hill
If I only could
Be running up that hill
If I only could
Be running up that hill)

Placebo

Placebo are an English alternative rock band formed in London in 1994 by Scottish-Belgian singer\guitarist Brian Molko and Swedish bassist\guitarist Stefan Olsdal. Original drummer Robert Schultzberg recorded the band’s self-titled debut album in 1996, but was replaced shortly after by drummer Steve Hewitt (who was Molko’s first choice, but couldn’t accept his invitation due to other commitments). In 2007, Hewitt left the band and was replaced by American drummer Steve Forrest, of band Evaline. He left in 2015 to pursue his side project Planes.

The band took the UK scene by storm with their gender-bending antics and their inflammatory single “Nancy Boy”, which shot up the UK charts and featured heavy sexual imagery.

Whilst leaving a “trail of blood and spunk” across Europe, and with 3 drummer changes over their 21 year history, Placebo have carved themselves a comfortable niche and a devoted fanbase. They currently present as a duo, with Brian and Stef sharing songwriting responsibilities and, occasionally, saliva.
