[Verse 1]
Sam, the weak accomplice
He knew he had a choice
He always startled easily
With the sound of every voice
A pocket full of excess
They take and take and take
He left 'em with a trigger pointed
Staring at his shakes

[Refrain]
And it goes on
It goes on

[Verse 2]
She was given nothing
But their selfish lack
They sleep with one eye open
Because they know she's coming back
But she will wait her turn
Absent from concern
The furnace inside her
It burns and burns and burns

[Refrain]
And it goes on
Oh, It goes on

[Chorus]
The weaker links never practiced
What they preach
They cower down below
That's what you call defeat
And in their darkest hour
It's hard to breathe
We try to catch up with the world
But we're so far out of reach
We're so far out of reach

[Verse 3]
Leaning in the dark
Stands this vacant man
Slicing her with his words
Always grabbing her with his hands

[Refrain]
And it goes on, on
It goes on

[Chorus]
The weaker links never practiced
What they preach
They cower down below
That's what you call defeat
And in their darkest hour
It's hard to breathe
We try to catch up with the world
But we're so far out of reach
We're so far out of reach

[Bridge]
I wish I had of warned you
Of this broken path
With each step you take
You know there's no turning back

[Chorus]
The weaker links never practiced
What they preach
They cower down below
That's what you call defeat
And in their darkest hour
It's hard to breathe
We try to catch up with the world
But we're so far out of reach

[Outro]
We try to catch up with the world
We try to catch up with the world
We try to catch up with the world
But we're so far out of reach
We try to catch up with the world
We try to catch up with the world
We try to catch up with the world
But we're so far out of reach

Saint Asonia

A Canadian rock/post-grunge “supergroup” featuring ex-Three Days Grace vocalist/guitarist Adam Gontier, Staind guitarist Mike Mushok, Eye Empire bassist Corey Lowery, and former Finger Eleven drummer Rich Beddoe, Saint Asonia came into being after Mushok and Gontier began writing together just after the latter’s split with his flagship band. Impressed with what they had managed to conjure up, the duo enlisted the rest of the crew and headed into the studio with producer Johnny K (Disturbed, Megadeth, Sevendust) to begin work on a debut long-player. “Better Place,” the first single from the record, was issued in May 2015, followed by the release of the eponymous full-length Saint Asonia later that summer. In 2017, Rich Beddoe left the band and was replaced by Mike Mushok’s Former Staind bandmate Sal Giancarelli. then in 2018, Corey Lowery left the band to join seether and was replaced by Adam Gontier’s cousin and former Art Of Dying bassist, Cale Gontier.
