When we were young, we all lived for fun we thought we were special
There were no goodbyes, we believed all the lies, always under pressure
Well there's something on my mind, and it's hard to say I tried to tell you, we're running out of time, and I know, I know, I know

If it makes you feel good and it makes it alright, then it's bound to connect deep in everybody's eyes
All it takes is a song with a hook and a line, and it's bound to blow up like the fourth of July

When we were young, we laid in the sun, at night we were faded
We never went home, but we were never alone
Yeah we thought we had made it
Well there's something on my mind, and it's hard to say I tried to tell you, to take this as a sign, cause I know, I know, I know

If it makes you feel good and it makes it alright, then it's bound to connect deep in everybody's eyes
All it takes is a song with a hook and a line, and it's bound to blow up like the fourth of July

Whatever, there'll be laughter
Remember, forever
If it makes you feel good and it makes it alright, then it's bound to connect deep in everybody's eyes
All it takes is a song with a hook and a line, and it's bound to blow up like the fourth of July

If it makes you feel good and it makes it alright, then it's bound to connect deep in everybody's eyes
All it takes is a song with a hook and a line, and it's bound to blow up like the fourth of July

Ohh, when we were young
Ohh, when we were young
When we were young
When we were young
