[Intro]
Five minutes to flush

[Verse 1: Nature]
They said they just wanna question me, the interruption
4 in the morning, they knocked and caught me fucking
Throw on something mad provocative, play with the top lock
Buy me some time so I can hide the shit kinda quick
Move the guns, clip the herb
They got me shook up plus my nut was disturbed
Hide the chocolate, picking up shells from off the carpet
Barricading the door for war like a hostage
It's my crib, got my name on the lease
Can't explain niggas just get arraigned and released
But who snitched, set me up, I think it's you bitch
Sacrificing my life for your two kids?
Truth is, I got a business to lose
Eyewitness news, paper telling bitches to move
Police turned the strip to a zoo, mad reporters
I laugh as I'm sit from my view, they think they caught us

[Chorus: Roger Troutman]
Four in the morning, Feds are out at the door
What you gonna do?
What you gonna do, when they come through for you?
Ooh wee, ooh wee, ooh wee
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, four minutes left
Four minutes

[Verse 2: Nature]
About a minute went by they knocked harder
My bitch went hysterical in shock, slapped her to calm her
.44 cocked to armor
It's been a long day, now a raid with Jakes playing the hallway
It's senseless, enter my crib and can't prevent this
Blocking my entrance, trying to knock it off the hinges
Battering rams coming inches, my hoe was bugging
Throw a fit, putting coke in the oven
Like I'm Larry Davis, the phone rang, some D.A. bitch
"Nature, turn yourself in", I didn't say shit
Knowing in my heart I'ma stay rich
It's amusing, confusing 'em 'til they lose patience
Try to ease up, calm my nerves with the cheba
Hoping the door doesn't fall before the keys flush
D's rush, plus the riot squad
No surrender, no retreat, shit's deep when times is hard

[Chorus: Roger Troutman]
Four in the morning, Feds are out at the door
What you gonna do?
What you gonna do, when they come through for you?
Ooh wee, ooh wee, ooh wee
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, three minutes left
Three minutes

[Verse 3: Nature]
By the time they busted in I had touched the cash
Just flushed the last hundred grams, nigga, sub-duct the math
They made me either that or let 'em take me
Still in my night clothes, fake like I'm sleep
Spoke to my rat heard him ask where the coke at
Predicate felon, hope to never go back
They had surveillance aware of all dealings
Knew about bitches that liked to shoot and loot kept in ceilings
Searching my spot behind curtains, stay cursing
Chief of police, finally meeting in person
But I just flushed the yayo, what could he say though?
Trying to flip on me, once was on the payroll
Trying to lay-low, he can't find what he need
So instead I'm cuffed taken down for some weed
But it's just for a short stay, I call the Firm then emerge
On the streets to return the next court day

[Chorus: Roger Troutman]
Four in the morning, Feds are out at the door
What you gonna do?
What you gonna do, when they come through for you?
Ooh wee, ooh wee, ooh wee
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, two minutes left

Four in the morning, Feds are out at the door
What you gonna do?
What you gonna do, when they come through for you?
Ooh wee, ooh wee, ooh wee
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, one minute left

The Firm

The Firm was a group consisting of Nas, Foxy Brown, AZ, and Nature. The Firm first appeared on “Affirmative Action” from Nas' 1996 album It Was Written, but instead of Nature, the song featured original member Cormega, who left the group due to creative and financial issues. The group released their only album, The Album, on Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment in 1997, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and achieved gold status. The original lineup of Nas, AZ, Foxy Brown and Cormega reunited on the track “Full Circle” from the 2020 Nas album King’s Disease.

Nas spoke about the beginning and end of The

AZ was my man and he told me about Foxy Brown; drove me to Brooklyn to meet her at her house. I wanted to put the Firm together and she fit perfectly.
