[Verse 1: Trisha Yearwood]
They always say be careful who you give your heart to
And they always say don't do it just because you want to
Must have never felt like this
No, they don't know a thing about him
I'm not trying to prove anybody wrong

[Chorus: Trisha Yearwood & Kelly Clarkson]
Tell me something I don't know
This wind's gonna have to blow
I know you're only trying to help
But I will find out for myself
I know your heart's in the right place
But I can make my own mistakes
It's gonna hurt when he let's go
Tell me something I don't know

[Verse 2: Trisha Yearwood]
What if I stopped right here, turned my back and ran for cover
To spare myself this pain, just let him be someone else's lover
It'd probably hurt me just as much
I'll take my chances, try my luck
And don't tell me you know how I feel, oh

[Chorus: Trisha Yearwood & Kelly Clarkson]
Tell me something I don't know
This wind's gonna have to blow
I know you're only trying to help
But I will find out for myself
I know your heart's in the right place
But I can make my own mistakes
It's gonna hurt when he let's go
Tell me something I don't know

[Bridge: Trisha Yearwood with Kelly Clarkson]
They always say be careful who you give your heart to
And they always say nothing hurts like love
Nothing hurts like love, nothing hurts like love

[Chorus: Trisha Yearwood with Kelly Clarkson]
Tell me something I don't know
This wind's gonna have to blow
I know you're only trying to help
But I will find out for myself
I know your heart's in the right place
But I will make my own mistakes
It's gonna hurt when he let's go
Tell me something I don't know
