[Verse 1]
You consider me the young apprentice
Caught between the Scylla and Charibdis
Hypnotized by you if I should linger
Staring at this ring around your finger
I have only come here seeking knowledge
Things they would not teach me of in college
I can see the destiny that you sold
Turning into a shining band of gold

[Chorus 1]
I'll be wrapped around your finger
I'll be wrapped around your
I'll be wrapped around your finger
I'll be wrapped around your

[Verse 2]
Mephistopheles is not your name
But I know what you're up to just the same
I will listen hard to your tuition
And you will see it come to its fruition

[Chorus 1]
I'll be wrapped around your finger
I'll be wrapped around your
I'll be wrapped around your finger
I'll be wrapped around your

[Verse 3]
Devil and the deep blue sea behind me
Vanished into the air, you'll never find me
I will turn your face to alabaster
Then you'll find your servant is your master

[Chorus 2]
And you'll be wrapped around my finger
I'll be wrapped around your
You'll be wrapped around my finger
I'll be wrapped around your

[Outro]
You'll be wrapped around my finger
I'll be wrapped around your
You'll be wrapped around my finger
I'll be wrapped around your finger
You'll be wrapped around my finger
I'll be wrapped around your

Underoath

Underoath are a six-piece metalcore band from Tampa, Florida. They were active from 1997-2013 but announced a reunion tour to celebrate the ten year anniversaries of their seminal albums They’re Only Chasing Safety and Define The Great Line in 2016. Aaron Gillespie is the only remaining original member of the band, but the current line-up is that as featured on the recording of They’re Only Chasing Safety, regarded as the turning point in their career.

They are regarded as icons of the alternative-emo scene that sprung out of the hardcore and metal scenes in the 2000s. Their earlier material was heavily influenced by a Christian worldview, but this changed through the years as band members' personal beliefs also changed, although some still remain active believers in Christianity.

In February 2018, the band released a new album (recorded in secret) titled Erase Me, which released in April of 2018. Erase Me recieved mixed reviews from metal fans as the band shifted towards more mainstream lyrics. The album included three explicit tracks with the use of three “f-bombs” and the use of “shit” on their tracks “On My Teeth,” “ihateit,” and “Hold Your Breath.”
