Always seem to get things wrong
I waited here a bit too long
For you to come along to me

I thought that I would kiss your lips
But the sky went dark and the moon eclipsed
And what I missed is all that I can see

Now I'm stuck here looking back
At where I lost the thread
So ashamed here thinking back
At how I lost my head

Way back when the world was young
Long before this song was sung
I know someone must have hurt like me

Now I'm stuck here looking back
At where I lost the thread
So ashamed here thinking back
At how I lost my head

Way back when the world was young
Long before this song was sung
I know someone must have hurt like me

Willie Nelson

Willie Hugh Nelson (April 29, 1933) is a singer-songwriter and musician. He was born in Abbott, TX and raised by his grandparents during the great Depression.

He achieved some success in the early 60’s as a crooner, a la Bobby Darin, but turned away from popular music to Country in the late 60s. His albums Shotgun Willie (1973), Red Headed Stranger (1975) and Stardust (1978) made him one of the most recognized artists in country music.

Nelson has released over 70 studio and live albums in his career, and still records and performs today.
