[Verse 1]
Well I met a California girl in Memphis
And she tried to take me upstairs for a ride
And she had to hold me right across her shoulder
And I just can't seem to get her off of my mind

[Chorus]
These honky tonk women
Gonna give me give me give me the honky tonk blues
She's a honky tonk woman
Give me give me give me the honky tonk blues

[Verse 2]
Well I later did the same in New York City
And I had to pull out of some kind of a fight
And the lady she covered me with roses
She blew my nose and then she blew my mind

[Chorus]
These honky tonk women gonna
Give me give me give me the honky tonk girls
Well there's a honky tonk woman
Give me give give me the honky tonk girl

[Verse 3]
And she had to hold me right across her shoulder
I just can't seem to get her off of my mind
She's a honky tonk woman
Give me give me the honky tonk girl
Honky tonk women
Give me give me the honky tonk girl
She's a honky tonk woman

Willie Nelson

Willie Hugh Nelson (April 29, 1933) is a singer-songwriter and musician. He was born in Abbott, TX and raised by his grandparents during the great Depression.

He achieved some success in the early 60’s as a crooner, a la Bobby Darin, but turned away from popular music to Country in the late 60s. His albums Shotgun Willie (1973), Red Headed Stranger (1975) and Stardust (1978) made him one of the most recognized artists in country music.

Nelson has released over 70 studio and live albums in his career, and still records and performs today.
