[Verse 1]
You ain't nothing but trouble, far as I can tell
Just a wasted wish in the wishing well
But you don't know, I've been here before
I'm just one too many miles from shore

[Chorus]
And I'm taking on water and I'm going down
Taking on water, that's what I'm doing now
Taking on water with only one way out
I gotta get my heart to higher ground

[Verse 2]
Oh, I'm already in, in too deep
I know you won't be there to rescue me
I'm already feel it, right through my chest
I'm afraid if I taste it, I might not catch my breath

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
Why is a woman always thinking
Just because a man is sinking
He's gonna drown

[Chorus][3x]

[Outro]
Takin' on water, going down
Takin' on water, that's what I'm doing now
Takin' on water with only one way out

Willie Nelson

Willie Hugh Nelson (April 29, 1933) is a singer-songwriter and musician. He was born in Abbott, TX and raised by his grandparents during the great Depression.

He achieved some success in the early 60’s as a crooner, a la Bobby Darin, but turned away from popular music to Country in the late 60s. His albums Shotgun Willie (1973), Red Headed Stranger (1975) and Stardust (1978) made him one of the most recognized artists in country music.

Nelson has released over 70 studio and live albums in his career, and still records and performs today.
