[Les Miserables sample]
Platoon of sappers advancing toward the barricade!
Troops behind them, fifty men or more!

[Verse 1]
I target the crux of all that's considered sin
The lost child venomous neck that spittles off my chin
Color me what?
Spellbound man hunting hellhound
Special investigations set kingpin
Bounce and of course you're happy
Mic activist, axis
Pivotal point spun all too often
Now walk and spin cycle
Dug psychedelic syndrome jabs your abdomen
I'm adamant with disperse and curse across
You're playing your chances broken branches
Scattered around your mainframe type uproot it
My hand saluted eastward compass is spinning
Magnetic field my metal mind driven
Threshold fresh coke crush and affect
Mic check and spin a rec conglomerate
The all absorbing metamorphin' monument
Not that average once upon a Glock, Glock, Glock
Dot, dot, dot, et cetera
The heated mass of fire and gas threatens your retina
Burning you back to immobile twitchin' fetal position
Itching for what could have been if not for who

[Hook]
This is Aesop Rock
I'm with 50 million troops upon my side
Flying towards the fraudulence coordinates
One hand on my mic
While the other drove my flag into your sidewalk
My sprouts stalks pawns and then I'm gone

[Verse 2]
Close encounters of the first kind
Contact cursed minds
Skies red
Stuck sitting spinning world wide webs
Overwhelmed and worried, flurried on your sidesteps
My pride treads thick
Utilize wide lens I slide strength in-telli-gently
We utilize mic like skele-ton key evidently all is not well
In a metra pot sell
Automatic hell habitat
Tainted pollutants toxic to me
The melancholy-olly-oxygen free on the night watch
Boost I introduced y'all troops to tragedy
Radically millions morphing the orphans
Spitting distortion
Piteous portions lacked a guiding light
Overriding and striding through the night
Starry army extends mics like dendrites
I blend life's darks and gray shades
Till displays made illustrate my views on sanity
If you're feeling famished we are family
Aesop Rock the canopy seek shelter
I have weaved a web across the sky hovering covering all
Night crawling audio visual veterans
Spreading like spores through the homes of all average Americans
50 million poets screaming all on the run
That's 50 million hearts beating as one

[Hook]
Once again it's Aesop Rock
I'm with 50 million troops upon my side
Flying towards the fraudulence coordinates
One hand on my mic
While the others drove my flag into your sidewalk
My sprouts stalks pawns and then I'm gone

Aesop Rock

Born Ian Matthias Bavitz, Aesop Rock was a pioneer in the new wave of underground hip-hop in New York City during the early 2000s. Regarding his name, he

I acquired the name Aesop from a movie I had acted in with some friends. It was my character’s name and it sort of stuck. The rock part came later just from throwing it in rhymes.

Aesop has a solid discography with 8 albums spanning over the course of 20+ years. He started in 1999 by selling his first album, Music for Earthworms, through his website while he was a student at Boston University. He has since gained a cult following and been named one of the best artists of the 2000s. His most successful albums are None Shall Pass, Skelethon, and The Impossible Kid which peaked on the Billboard 200 at #50, #21, and #30 respectively.
