[Verse 1]
I never thought that I would be that one
The only one, to take that gun
You know I was the better one
The better one
And in this place the choice I make
To fight this way
The colors fade and leave no trace
Cause you can't change, cause you can't, change

[Pre-Chorus]
The silence is your action
When there’s a crash waiting to happen
But you still show no reaction…

[Chorus]
Please be my enemy, my enemy
Please be my enemy, my enemy
Please be my enemy, my enemy
Please be my enemy, the enemy

[Verse 2]
I'd rather hate, than be the one
Who pricks his thumb, to see his blood
I'm not that strong
I never was

[Pre-Chorus + Chorus]

[Bridge]
I won't come back, if you don't fight back
I won't come back, if you don't fight back

[Chorus]

Alec Benjamin

After getting dropped by Columbia Records at 18 years old, singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin built a following by playing in parking lots outside of Shawn Mendes and Troye Sivan concerts. The Phoenix, Arizona native caught the attention of Jon Bellion, earning a songwriting credit on Bellion’s debut album and later joined him on tour.

To build on the momentum, Benjamin began uploading new songs to his YouTube channel at a rapid clip and eventually earned on a viral hit with “I Built a Friend” and a deal with Atlantic Records.

Benjamin connects to listeners by incorporating using his life struggles to tell stories and give meaning to his songs. You can see this in “Let Me Down Slowly,” “Paper Crown,” “I Built a Friend,” “Death of a Hero,” and “If We Have Each Other.”
