[Verse 1]
Got me feeling like the elephant
In every room I'm walking into, yeah
We started out innocent
Till I got pulled right into your issue, yeah

[Pre-Chorus]
I'm tired of sending hugs and kisses, oh no
I'm tired of all your burning bridges

[Chorus]
It's like, damn
Why you gonna be so cold in the summertime, summertime?
I was really rooting for ya, yeah yeah
I was really rooting for ya, eh yeah
Why you gotta be so cold in the summertime, summertime?
I was really rooting for ya, oh no
We were really rooting for ya, yeah-eh, yeah

[Post-Chorus]
Oh

[Verse 2]
Now I see you're having so much fun with everyone
You had so much fun making fun of
Did you go and bump your head?
Did you forget where you came from?

[Pre-Chorus]
I'm tired of sending my well wishes
I'm tired of all these burning bridges

[Chorus]
It's like, damn
Why you gonna be so cold in the summertime, summertime?
I was really rooting for ya, yeah yeah
I was really rooting for ya, eh yeah
It's like, man
Why you gonna be so cold in the summertime, summertime?
I was really rooting for ya, oh no
We were really rooting for ya, yeah, yeah-eh

[Bridge]
I'm not even brokenhearted
I'm just a little disappointed
What a shame, we coulda had a good thing
You let go of a good thing

[Chorus]
It's like, damn
Why you gonna be so cold in the summertime, summertime?
I was really rooting for ya, oh no
We was really rooting for ya
Oh, I was really rooting for ya
Why you gotta be so cold in the summertime, summertime?
I was really rooting for ya, yeah yeah
We were really rooting for ya, yeah yeah

[Outro]
It's like damn
In the summertime
I was really, I was really rooting for ya

Alessia Cara

Alessia Caracciolo is a singer-songwriter from Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Upon the release of her first single, “Here”, she shortened her last name because it was “so long and spelled crazy.”

These covers got her signed to EP Entertainment and later, Def Jam.

Her first single, “Here” premiered on The FADER on April 27th, 2015, and blew up soon after. Just four months later, the song racked up 18 million Spotify streams in addition to 4.5 million views on its official video.
