[Verse 1]
We've been out all night in your fast car
Yeah the moon's full, lights up the road's path
Turn the music up, roll in, car pulls up
You've set this up for us, yeah there is all for us
Sittin' under a pear tree
A coyote's starin' at me
Seems like a scene from a movie
Seems like a scene from a movie

[Pre-Chorus]
I turned around and to my surprise
You're on one knee, beady eyes
What are you doing?
No, for real, what are you doing?

[Chorus]
Put the ring down
I wanna marry myself
Give that ring to somebody else
I wanna marry myself
What is this even about
I wanna marry mysеlf
And when I marry myself
Give that ring to somеone else

[Verse 2]
So I ran away from you
'Cause I don't wanna do this, no
Never made it seem like I'd run too
Never had my hand out

[Pre-Chorus]
I turned around and to my surprise
You're on one knee, beady eyes
What are you doing?
For real, what are you doing?

[Chorus]
Put the ring down
I wanna marry myself
Give that ring to somebody else
I wanna marry myself
What is this even about
I wanna marry myself
And when I marry myself
Give that ring to someone else

[Bridge]
Ooh
Ooh
Ooh

[Chorus]
Put that ring down
I wanna marry myself
Give that ring to somebody else
I wanna marry myself
What is this even about
I wanna marry myself
Ew put that ring down
I wanna marry myself

BENEE

Stella Rose Bennett (born 30 January 2000), known professionally as BENEE (formerly Bene), is a New Zealand singer-songwriter who debuted in December 2017 with “Tough Guy.” Music had always been part of her life, with a family history in theatre. BENEE’s first instrument was a saxophone, playing it for several years, along with the guitar.

BENEE started posting music to Soundcloud in her final year of high school (2017), catching the attention of producer Josh Fountain. The pair went on the work together in several of her singles, including break-out single “Soaked” which was featured on triple j’s hottest 100 (2018).

After spending two weeks in a communications course at the Auckland Institute of Technology, Benee realised she wanted to be making music full-time.
