[Chorus]
I wanna see your soft side
But only when the time's right
And it's a shame you're in the limelight
Makes it hard to catch your eyesight
I wanna see your soft side
But only when the time's right (Woah)

[Post-Chorus]
I wanna know everything that there is about you
I wanna try to understand your mind and how you
Weave through walls you hide behind, I wanna try
Baby, I wanna get inside, I wanna—

[Verse]
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that I have the power to
Open that up that spot, it's not that hard to see
I'm keen, you see through me
Don't care 'bout what my friends think
My friends think that I've gone mad
Say I should find someone a little less detached
That I want something that I cannot have

[Chorus]
I wanna see your soft side
But only when the time's right
And it's a shame you're in the limelight
Makes it hard to catch your eyesight
I wanna see your soft side
But only when the time's right
And it's a shame you're in the limelight
Makes it hard to catch your eyesight

[Post-Chorus]
I wanna know everything that there is about you
I wanna try to understand your mind and how you
Weave through walls you hide behind, I wanna try
Baby, I wanna get inside, I wanna—
I wanna know everything that there is about you
I wanna try to understand your mind and how you
Weave through walls you hide behind, I wanna try
Baby, I wanna get inside, I wanna—

BENEE

Stella Rose Bennett (born 30 January 2000), known professionally as BENEE (formerly Bene), is a New Zealand singer-songwriter who debuted in December 2017 with “Tough Guy.” Music had always been part of her life, with a family history in theatre. BENEE’s first instrument was a saxophone, playing it for several years, along with the guitar.

BENEE started posting music to Soundcloud in her final year of high school (2017), catching the attention of producer Josh Fountain. The pair went on the work together in several of her singles, including break-out single “Soaked” which was featured on triple j’s hottest 100 (2018).

After spending two weeks in a communications course at the Auckland Institute of Technology, Benee realised she wanted to be making music full-time.
