[Intro]
This is a story
About the way we first met (Ooh, ooh, ooh, woah)
It's a cautionary tale for all the lovers out there
So take a listen

[Verse 1]
Said I was comin' up to see you
You said, "Why?"
That if I was comin' up to get with you
"Save your money, don't waste your time"
Girl, you got me so frustrated
Don't know what to do
You said you're waitin' for the real thing
Take it slow, get to know you

[Chorus]
Bein' the good girl
Might be a drag, uh
That I can't get with you, yet
Makes me sad, uh
That this might turn into somethin'
Makes me glad
Well, baby, you got my number
When you wanna be bad

[Verse 2]
So I called you two weeks later
You said, "Hi, babe"
Actin' like you were happy to hear for me
Like you remember that I was alive
Said you were comin' back in a few days
"Could we go out?"
Even though I knew you'd tease me
I answered affirmative, there was no doubt

[Chorus]
Bein' the good girl, uh
Might be a drag
That this might turn into somethin'
Makes me glad
That I can't get with you, yet
Makes me sad
Well, baby, you got my number
When you wanna be bad

[Bridge]
And that's why I'll wait for you
But only for you
And that's why I'm willin' to jump through every hoop
That you put me through

[Outro]
Be that good girl (Be that good girl)
That I never had (Be that good girl)
That this might turn into somethin' (Be that good girl)
Makes me glad (Be that good girl)
That I can't get with you, yet (Be that good girl)
Makes me sad (Be that good girl)
But, baby, you got my number (That's right)
Baby, you got my number (One more time)
Baby, you got my number
When you wanna be bad
