[Verse 1]
A young boy from the hood South
I knew I didn't belong because I stood out
My house burned down, left with nothing but a doubt
I need me something new that I could learn now
Riding in the old school, listening to old music
Who granted, I really couldn't stand it
But damn it, I love it now
Put nothing above it now
Which is why I never thought about rapping (Ha)
I needed something more sweet
Which is how I found out about a thing called R&B
Unfortunately, nobody was supporting me
That's why I kept it on the low like a submarine
I remember the days being a rookie
The ones that been playing the game would overlook me
And once they saw that I was cold, producers started cooking me
And all the new rappers got old so I say

[Chorus]
Thank you R&B
You separate me from all of these locals surrounding me
You brought out the cloud in me
Now, I can shine
I don't want to waste no time
I just want the fame right now
Be a celebrity, all of this fame, yeah God
I just want to make it mine
Hear me out, I deserve it
I just ain't been heard yet
Down low, it's worth it
I'm just so glad I can do something these people can't
And that's why I say thanks to R&B
Oh thank you R&B (Yeah)

[Verse 2]
Singing in the shower but came
Singing into a studio mic for a couple of hours and then
I realized I was better than most
Cockiness to the side, I had a hell of a float, for real
I've always asked for a deal, fuck a bargain
Tryna get signed like a tree, bark carvin'
My songs hot, they should charge me with arson
And I kill the beats sick, call it coughin' in a coffin
Singing to your girl on the phone, late at night
Pleasure P did it wrong but I made it right
Success ain't cheap, I'm working hard to pay the price
Make way for Bryson 'cause I'm taking flight (Woah)
I appreciate the haters
And the "Tiller would never be famous" debaters
And I appreciate every single prayer
And thank God most for giving me the breath to say this

[Chorus]
Thank you R&B
You separate me from all of these locals surrounding me
You brought out the cloud in me
Now, I can shine
I don't want to waste no time
I just want the fame right now
Be a celebrity, all of this fame, yeah God
I just want to make it mine
Hear me out, I deserve it
I just ain't been heard yet
Down low, it's worth it
I'm just so glad I can do something these people can't
And that's why I say thanks to R&B
Oh thank you R&B (Yeah)

[Interlude]
Man, I swear (Oh-wow)
I love you, you know?
It's something special to me (Oh-wow)
I need it (I need it)
I'ma do it (I need it)
And keep going (I need it)
And keep going (I need it)
And let's go HQ

[Chorus]
Thank you R&B
You separate me from all of these locals surrounding me
You brought out the cloud in me
Now, I can shine
I don't want to waste no time
I just want the fame right now
Be a celebrity, all of this fame, yeah God
I just want to make it mine
Hear me out, I deserve it
I just ain't been heard yet
Down low, it's worth it
I'm just so glad I can do something these people can't
And that's why I say thanks to R&B
Oh thank you R&B (Yeah)

Bryson Tiller

Bryson Tiller is an American singer-songwriter from Louisville, Kentucky. His debut studio album T R A P S O U L, was released on October 2, 2015.

Tiller started receiving massive internet attention from music industry insiders with his breakout single “Don’t” which he originally released on SoundCloud, which has since been streamed over 35 million times.

Early co-signs from super producer Timbaland and Drake led to multiple major label deals for Bryson. One of those major label deals being a OVO contract from Drizzy, but Bryson surprisingly declined the offer. Later he eventually chose to sign a creative partnership with RCA Records on August 25, 2015. It wasn’t easy for Bryson coming up although. Bryson realeased Killer Instinct Vol. 1 back in 2011. While at the same time, Bryson was working some real overtime and was a big hustler, working two jobs and also dealing with relationship issues. At one point, Bryson even considered applying for a third job, to provide for his little daughter, Harley (who is featured in the True To Self cover art). Bryson struggled but then he released a song that would change his life forever. He dropped this song on Soundcloud in 2014. This song is the one we all know and love, Don’t. Bryson instantly became an overnight sensation. And from that we already know he received props from Timbaland and Drake and since then has released three T R A P S O U L in 2015, True To Self in 2017 and A N N I V E R S A R Y in 2020, exactly five years after the release of his debut album.
