[Intro: Keavan Yazdani]
Lil' nigga you gotta light a fire
This is far, far from the East my G
You far far away
A real man, be really getting his fuckin' money, my nigga
Why you stressed?
Life is not that sad baby bro
Get up and get off of your ass and get this fuckin' money

[Chorus: Daniel Caesar]
I gotta make something for myself, myself
Don't forget you chose this life
Welcome to your paradise
Lay in your bed, reap what you sow
Welcome to your paradise

[Verse 1: Daniel Caesar]
I used to stand on the rocks, I used to stand on the rock
On the Rock of Gibraltar
Father told me I faltered
Picking fights with my pops
He asked forgiveness a lot
But I don't need God's forgiveness
Can I get me a witness

[Pre-Chorus: Daniel Caesar]
I could cry, but I gotta pick my battles tonight, tonight
I could cry, I'll be fighting for the rest of my life, my life

[Chorus: Daniel Caesar]
Don't forget you chose this life
Welcome to your paradise
Lay in your bed, reap what you sow
Welcome to your paradise

[Verse 2: Sean Leon]
Do you wanna be your father? Or do you wanna take it farther
Leave the woman that you'd break your heart for at the altar
'Cause you were offered a life that you would trade your heart for
Ain't gotta die to see heaven, I got your heaven nigga
Would rather rev on an engine than ever reverend, nigga
Black sheeps packing weapons in 911's, nigga
How could worship be worth it?
You love your God like yourself
So you deserve to be perfect
You deserve for your car to skrrt and your girl to be skirtless
Fuck on a Saturday nigga, miss Sunday service
You made you a hundred verses, a hundred verses
That's why you need you a hundred virgins, a hundred virgins
Yeah, you wear your crown with a frown sometimes
You can't help but feel down at times
You were raised in the basement
You used to pray on your spaceship

[Outro: Daniel Caesar]
I gotta make something for myself, myself
If you want to get this money, come and join me
If you want to get this money, come and join me
If you want to get this money, come and join me
If you want to get this money, come and join me

The world has come to understand R&B/Soul music as a multi-faceted genre that transcends soundwaves into the inner core of our existence — a genre that makes listeners feel, rather than just hear. For Toronto native, Ashton Simmonds, who performs under the stage name, Daniel Caesar (born April 5, 1995), the R&B/Soul genre serves as a skeleton to which he builds up with jarring gospel undertones, heart-tugging guitar chords, and soothing harmonious vocals.

His sophomore effort, Praise Break, successfully captured the attention of many major publications and outlets and was ranked 19th in the 20 Best R&B Albums of 2014 by Rolling Stone Magazine. Caesar’s follow-up project, Pilgrim’s Paradise, was met with even greater praise, subsequently capturing the attention of both the Canadian and international music markets.

On August 25, 2017, Daniel released his debut album, Freudian, which followed the release of “We Find Love” and “Blessed,” and contains hit songs, “Best Part” and “Get You.” In 2018, Freudian was nominated for Best R&B Album at the Grammys.
