Songwriter: Sting

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Among the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold

So she took her love
For to gaze awhile
Among the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold

Will you stay with me?
Will you be my love
Among the fields of barley?
And you can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold

I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I have broken
But I swear in the days still left
We will walk in fields of gold
We will walk in fields of gold

I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I have broken
But I swear in the days still left
We will walk in fields of gold
We will walk in fields of gold

Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
As you lie in fields of gold

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Among the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold

When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold

Eva Cassidy

Eva Cassidy (February 2, 1963 – November 2, 1996) was an American vocalist and guitarist known for her renditions and interpretations of jazz and blues. She released her first album, The Other Side, in 1992, followed by a set of duets with go-go musician Chuck Brown, before releasing her final work, Live at Blues Alley, in 1996, which was a live solo album.

Cassidy died of melanoma in 1996, but it was after her death that she received the recognition that she deserved. In 1998, her music was brought to the attention of British audiences, when her versions of Fields of Gold and Over the Rainbow were played by Mike Harding and Terry Wogan on BBC Radio 2. The compilation album Songbird climbed to the top of the UK Albums Charts, almost three years after its initial release. Her posthumously released recordings, including three UK number 1 records, have sold more than ten million copies. Her music has also charted top 10 positions in Australia, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Switzerland.
