[Verse 1]
I took their smiles and I made them mine
I sold my soul just to hide the light
And now I see what I really am
A thief, a whore, and a liar

[Chorus]
I run to you
(And run away from this town)
Call out your name
(Giving up, giving in)
I see you there
(Still you are)
Farther away

[Verse 2]
I'm numb to you - numb and deaf and blind
You give me all but the reason why
I reach but I feel only air at night
Not you, not love, just nothing

[Chorus]
I run to you
(And run away from this town)
Call out your name
(Giving up, giving in)
I see you there
(Still you are)
Farther away

[Bridge]
Tried to forget you
But without you I feel nothing
Don't leave me here, by myself
I can't breathe

[Chorus]
I run to you
(And run away from this town)
Call out your name
(Giving up, giving in)
I see you there
(Still you are)
Farther away

[Chorus/Outro]
I run to you
(And run away from this town)
Call out your name
(Giving up, giving in)
I see you there
(Still you are)
Farther away
Farther away
Farther away
Farther away
Farther away
Farther away

Evanescence

Evanescence is an American rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. Evanescence was originally promoted in Christian stores. Later, the band made it clear they did not want to be considered part of the Christian rock genre, like fellow Wind-up Records artists Creed. Some of their most popular hits “Bring Me to Life,” “My Immortal,” and “What You Want.”

In 2014, the band parted ways with their long-term record label Wind-Up and became independent artists. In late 2016, they released a Ultimate Collection box set featuring all their albums along with the 2000 demo album Origin and a B-sides compilation Lost Whispers.

In November 2017, they released their fourth album, Synthesis, featuring a reimagining of some of their past songs plus two new original songs with the spotlight on full orchestra and electronics.
