[Verse 1]
Goodbye Jimmy, farewell youth
I must be on my way, I've had enough of you
Was a young man, proud and true
Just a simple boy with nothing left to lose

[Pre-Chorus]
Years that I've wasted
These I.O.U.'s

[Verse 2]
They're just fucking words
This is life or death
It's time to clear the air, you better save your breath
Say have you heard, say have you heard
The poison in my heart and voices in my head?

[Pre-Chorus]
Years that I've wasted
These I.O.U.'s

[Chorus]
I meant every word for word for word forward
Word for word for word forward
Word for word for word forward
Word for word for word forward

[Bridge]
But it's only words
I meant every word
They're just fucking words

[Chorus]
Word for word for word forward
Word for word for word forward
Word for word for word forward
Word for word for word forward
Word for word for word forward
Word for word for word forward
Word (for word) for word (for word) for word (for word) forward
Word (for word) for word (for word) for word (for word) forward

Foo Fighters

Foo Fighters are an American rock band formed in 1995 by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. Originally a solo project by him to overcome the grief of Kurt Cobain’s death, Grohl attracted label interest with his inaugural demo tape.

According to Dave Grohl, the band is named after the UFOs that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II.

I was reading a lot of books on UFOs. Not only is it a fascinating subject, but there’s a treasure trove of band names in those UFO books! So, since I had recorded the first record by myself, playing all the instruments, but I wanted people to think that it was a group, I figured that FOO FIGHTERS might lead people to believe that it was more than just one guy. Silly, huh?
