[Verse 1]
Woke up, got outta bed today (Yeah)
I tried to type a text but it's hard to find the words to say (Yee)
Feel like it isn't worth it (Yeah), I should move on, I should find a new bae (A new one)
You keep actin' like you're perfect, but the smile that you wear is too fake, it's too fake (Too fake, yee), I wish

[Pre-Chorus]
Wish it could feel the same again, old wounds
But we're feelin' the pain again
Your eyes will never see me the same again
And every time I think we're fixed, we just break again, yeah, uh

[Chorus]
And it might be too late to meet in the middle, yeah
But before you go, can you wait just a little? Yeah
This love's a ghost of what it used to be, yeah
But let me hold you close one last time, play pretend with me

[Post-Chorus]
Play pretend, play pretend (Yeah), play pretend (Pretend, yeah, pretend)
Just play pretend, play pretend, play pretend (Yeah, yeah, yeah), yeah, uh

[Verse 2]
It's 6 a.m., tonight became today (Yeah), funny, uh
Rock bottom, this feel like a doomsday (Yeah, it hurt, yeah)
But can you tell how far apart (Yeah) we've both become? (You know) Yeah (Yeah)
We both are numb (Yeah), so far removed from where we begun (Yeah, yeah, yeah), I wish, I wish, yeah

[Pre-Chorus]
Wish it could feel the same again, old wounds
But we're feelin' the pain again
Your eyes will never see me the same again
And every time I think we're fixed, we just break again, yeah

[Chorus]
Uh, and it might be too late (Yeah) to meet in the middle (Yeah), damn
But before you go, can you wait (Wait) just a little? (Just a little, yeah), yeah
This love's a ghost of what it (Yeah) used to be, yeah (Yee)
But let me hold you close one last time, play pretend with me (One time)

[Post-Chorus]
Play pretend, play pretend, play pretend (Yeah), yeah
Just play pretend, play pretend, play pretend

G-Eazy

Gerald Earl Gillum, better known as G-Eazy, is an RCA signed rapper from Oakland, California. He has gained traction in the rap game, with his iconic dapper style, timeless sampling, and mix of West Coast and Southern Rap influences.

While G-Eazy’s rap career goes far back into his early teens, his first major hit “Runaround Sue” from The Endless Summer set him on the fast track to success. Years later G-Eazy’s release of “I Mean It” gave him his first platinum record and a platform to show the world what he is made of. One of his biggest and most well-known hits to date is the platinum record, “Me, Myself, & I” from When It’s Dark Out, which peaked at number 7 on the Hot 100.

He then went on to score two more smash hits in the form of “No Limit” with Cardi B and A$AP Rocky and “Him & I” with then-girlfriend Halsey. Both songs cracked the top twenty, peaking at numbers 4 and 14, respectively. Both hits were tracks off his 2017 album, The Beautiful & Damned which peaked on the Billboard 200 at the number 3 spot.
