[Murdoc]
It's a number, isn't it? You know, it's just a number, you know and people are scared of this number. It's just a number!

[Russel]
But what about Octavian?

[2D]
Where did he get that name from?

[Russel]
From uh, Romulus and Remus.

[2D & Murdoc]
Ohhhh...

[2D & Murdoc & Noodle]
Ahhhh.

[Russel]
You could be in a tunnel

[2D]
Hmm.

[Russel]
Sometimes the light is the end of the tunnel.

[2D]
Right.

[Russel]
Sometimes it's just a train.

[Murdoc]
Wow! I'll tell you what though, that must have been a...

[2D]
As soon as you said tunnel there was a train!

[Russel]
That's right.

[2D]
It's always impu– important to remember that every day can be beautiful if you want it to be.

[Russel]
Yeah.

[2D]
I think it's about your perception, don't you think?

[Russel]
And- and– and every day starts in the dark.

[2D]
That's right.

[Russel]
And ends in the dark.

[Murdoc]
Ah man.

[2D]
That's right.

[Russel]
But in the middle there is light.

[2D]
Yeah.

Gorillaz

Gorillaz is a virtual band created by Damon Albarn of Britpop band Blur and Jamie Hewlett, co-creator of the comic book Tank Girl. The band is composed of four animated band Stuart “2D” Pot (vocals, keyboard), Murdoc Niccals (bass), Noodle (lead guitar and occasional vocals), and Russel Hobbs (drums and percussion). Murdoc was based on Keith Richards from a photo by David Bailey and 2D was based on a friend of Damon and Jamie’s.

The project began as an experiment and commentary on popular media. It was inspired by Hewlett and Albarn binge watching MTV when the two were housemates in London. Hewlett

If you watch MTV for too long, it’s a bit like hell – there’s nothing of substance there. So we got this idea for a cartoon band, something that would be a comment on that.
